About the Fair

West Cork Rare Bookfair - 2024
Sunday 4th - Monday 5th of August, 2024

What to expect:

The West Cork Rare Book Fair now goes into its third year and happens this summer again at the August Bank Holiday Weekend (Sunday 4th & Monday 5th of August, 2024).

We invite you to three beautiful Bookshop-locations throughout Skibbereen, all within walking distance from each other and with more than 20000 Books on display.

Location I: Inanna Rare Books at The Masonic Hall

Location II: Inanna Modern at The Still Mill

Location III: Antiquity Bookshop–Café

This year we also have invited:

“Bookbindery Diller” – Traditional Bookbindery from Frankfurt am Main / Germany
The Bookbindery will showcase some of their bindings and special Solander-Boxes as well as binding-techniques and they hope you bring books you wish to have repaired (for quotes and suggestions)

“Ithys Press & Houyhnhnm Press” – Publishers of Letterpress First Editions

“Ponc Press” - Traditional Letterpress Printer & Publisher from Dingle

On Sunday afternoon, August the 4th, at 4 pm, we also invite you to a Talk by wonderful irish photographer, John Minihan: “Beckett & the Wake”

Catering:

During the bookfair the Antiquity - Bookshopcafe at 44 Bridge Street will be open for Food and Drink on both Days !

At all three locations we are offering for Sale a large selection of Rare Books, Rare Vinyl, Maps, Art & Photography, Manuscripts, Ephemera, Vinyl Records etc. etc.
